Who we are

Arfon Swimming Club

We are a friendly, sociable swimming club based in Caernarfon and Bangor in North Wales. Come and join us if you’re 18 or over and want to improve your swimming skills, speed and fitness,

New members are always welcome, come along for a free assessment session. Many members enjoy open water swimming and triathlons and the Club is affiliated to Swim Wales. We have four weekly training sessions at the Aquatics and Healthy Lifestyles Centres in Bangor and Caernarfon.

In each session, there are a number of lanes so we can cater for swimmers of all abilities.

Tuesday 8.00pm - 9.00pm, Bangor

Pete and Oggy alternate the coaching. Pete is a experienced coach and his sessions will focus on mindful swimming based on technique and tactics. Oggy's sessions focus on aerobic fitness covering all strokes, alongside technique drills and may include some sprint relays to hone those competitive skills.

Thursday 8.00pm - 9.00pm, Caernafon 

We have two coaches on Thursday...Jill will work closely with swimmers who want to improve technique on any strokes. Sunnie and Oggy will put swimmers through their paces with front crawl fitness sessions. Swimmers will cover between 1.5km and 2.5km (depending on ability) and there'll be tips on improving efficiency and speed in the water. Ideal for triathletes and open water swimmers.

Friday 5.30pm - 6.30pm, Bangor

Jill will focus on different strokes, work on technique with aerobic fitness in relaxed, inclusive sessions.

Sunday 8:15am-9:15am, Caernarfon 

Available for club members to enjoy a relaxed Sunday morning swim.


Membership and Session Fees

Club membership costs £40 and lasts for 12 months from the date your forms & payment are received.

There are different ways you can pay for sessions. Choose the method that works best for you:

•    Once a week swim: £28 per month

Monthly standing order only - please put your name as the reference.

•    Up to 4 swims per week: £48 per month

Monthly standing order only - please put your name as the reference.

•    'Pay As You Go': £10 per swim for occasional swimmers.

Monthly payments are neither transferable nor refundable.
